Hailing from Waco Texas, Kayla Ray’s music encapsulates the essence of Americana, reminiscent of a drive down a sun baked highway. Raised on the sounds of country legends like Bob Wills and Merle Haggard, Ray’s journey through the music industry saw her learning from icons like the Gimble Family before stepping into the spotlight herself. Now relocated to Nashville since she has recently signed a record deal with Average Joes Entertainment’s new Americana Branch, “Real AF Records” and has just released her label debut “The World’s Weight”. With the release of her label debut album, Ray showcases
Her unique blend of country storytelling, influenced by her experiences of love, heartbreak, and independence. Describing her sound as “Amerikinda”, Ray’s music weaves tales of nostalgia and introspection, evident in tracks like “Good Old Days” and “Likes to Drink Alone”. Offstage, Ray channels her passion for music into a Master’s Degree in Mental Health and a music therapy course for Texas inmates, emphasizing the power of music to unite and heal. As she continues to tour, Ray remains grateful for the artistic freedom to share her authentic voice with the world.
